Enjin SDK added to Unity Asset Store

Emerging blockchain gaming tools outfit Enjin has announced it’s signed an Asset Store partnership with Unity.

This means Unity developers will be able to use the Enjin SDK to create and manage blockchain-based virtual goods within their existing and forthcoming games.

Providing access to Enjin’s SDK gives our community the ability to design new gameplay possibilities

“Providing access to Enjin’s SDK through our Asset Store gives our community the ability to design new gameplay possibilities,” said Unity’s President, APAC, Hubert Larenaudie.

The SDK integrates with the company’s Enjin Wallet, which is now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play store.

As well as holding ERC-20 tokens, it accepts cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin and Enjin Coin.

“We will be working closely with the Unity team to ensure the Enjin SDK is carefully optimized for their fantastic game engine, and works seamlessly inside the Unity Editor,” added Enjin’s CTO Witek Radomski.

“We will also collaborate on producing in-depth documentation, tutorials, and Unity example projects for the official knowledgebase”

Gearing up

The move is the next step for Singapore-based Enjin, which found success with its community-focused website building tools for games such as Minecraft and World of Warcraft, which is used by 19 million users and over 250,000 guilds and communities.

Powered by its Enjin Coin (ENJ), which raised $23 million in its token sale, the company is now aggressively moving into the sector with its own blockchain game development tools.

These include Efinity, which is Enjin’s own Ethereum-based high speed, low cost transaction network, which will also enable developer with flexible models of distributing tokens to their players.
