Twitch’s Scott McCarthy and Riot Games’ Veronica Foo join Illuvium

Since its conception, Illuvium has had its sights set on bringing triple-A gaming experiences to blockchain games. To do this, the company must draw from the mainstream gaming world and so the Illuvium team has welcomed in veterans from Twitch and Playstation, Scott McCarthy, and Riot Games’ Veronica Foo.

As detailed in a Medium post, Scott McCarthy will be joining as Chief Marketing Officer, while Veronica Foo takes on the role of Head of Digital Marketing.

Along with having mainstream pedigrees, both McCarthy and Foo boast profound skills in brand and product marketing campaigns. In particular, Foo’s time with Riot and Ubisoft and experience will be put into action with Illuvium.

In a statement, Foo shared her perspective of the company, and the importance of blockchain technology in gaming:

“Gaming is at an inflection point and Illuvium is poised to transform the crypto and gaming landscape. Launching Illuvium and bringing crypto games to the mainstream audience is once-in-a-career opportunity and challenge I look forward to.”

With the inclusion of McCarthy and Foo to its marketing team, the company has its sights set on raise greater awareness of its ambitious roadmap. In the coming months, the team plans to launch its minigame, Illuvium Zero, in late 2021, and the public beta of its main title in 2022.
