Andreessen Horowitz spearheads seed round for Vaynerchuk’s VeeFriends NFT project

Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) is certainly no stranger to the blockchain gaming world, or investing in it. The team recently led a massive $50 million seed funding round for Gary Vaynerchuk, specifically for his new NFT project – VeeFriends.

Having launched in May 2021, Vee’s VeeFriends has already proven its efficacy, with additional funding indicating that there is still optimism within a market that is undergoing a winter spell.

VeeFriends does intend to use the capital raised here to expand further its intellectual properties (physical and digital) or it’s 283 unique characters while also having the room to staff up to scale.

All of this comes as VeeFriennds Series 2 continues on from its release earlier this year.

These characters are especially unique because each cartoon animal was hand-drawn by Vaynerchuk himself. Seventeen of them, for example, were on a special edition UNO deck. What’s more, each token provides the holder with access to the associated VeeCon conference, one of which happened this May.

Since its launch, VeeFriends has managed to raise in 200,000 ETH in sales of its NFT collection, making it one of the top 30 collections in trading volume on OpenSea.
