Bitcoin Miner hits 2 million downloads on the back of integrating ZBD’s rewards system

UK game developer Fumb Games is celebrating the second anniversary of Bitcoin Miner’s integration with Bitcoin gaming payment network ZBD.

Through ZBD’s plug-and-play API, developers can implement instant rewards containing small fragments of Bitcoin called Sats, for players and users of their apps. Since the initiation of the collaboration between the companies in March 2022, Fumb Games’ mobile-based idle mining game Bitcoin Miner has grown from effectively forgotten, to achieving 40,000 DAUs, and exceeding an all-time player base of 2 million.

While Bitcoin rewards is one factor behind its growth, Bitcoin Miner has also been bolstered from running community-based features including weekly live events. Of course, expanding beyond its own player-community to integrate with the 1 million gamers using the ZBD app would also account for some of its boost.

Due to the recent growth of its flagship title, Fumb Games announced in November 2023 it’s also collaborating with ZBD to integrate its rewards system in mobile-based idle tycoon RPG SpaceY.

ZBD Chief Strategy Officer Ben Cousens commented, “The two-year collaboration with Paul and Fumb Games on Bitcoin Miner has been a quintessential success story for what we’re building at ZBD. It proves the value in offering rewards for gamers and the success of ZBD’s rewards and payments tech at making it possible at speed and scale.”

Bitcoin Miner has proven that US players love games that are fun, snackable and rewarding. The game is not only sustainable, but has soared to new heights since the partnership with ZBD, said Fumb Games founder Paul West, adding “It’s no surprise that I’m very excited for the future of bitcoin and player-friendly rewarded games.”
