US developer Faraway Games has followed the current trend with the announcement of the legally independent F Foundation, which will launch and operate gaming-centered L1 blockchain Fchain.
Built on Avalanche and leveraging its latest tech update Avalanche9000, Fchain’s wider purpose is to support game developers making games with open and interoperable economies, debuting with Faraway’s own game portfolio.
To that end, Fchain will be used for all of Faraway’s to-date announced games such as Shatterline, Villains, Rebel Skies, Serum City, and Solana-based Mini Royale Nations, as well as the IP it acquired from Yuga such as HV-MTL and Legends of the Mara. Faraway’s creator platform and marketplace – as currently being used in Dookey Dash: Unclogged – will also be powered by Fchain.
Other prominent game titles built on Avalanche L1s include DeFi Kingdoms, MapleStory Universe, Shrapnel, Off The Grid and its Gunz blockchain, and more.
Following the latest Avalanche9000 upgrade, one of the key benefits of deploying games to Avalanche include ACP77, which enables developers to spin up their own L1s (previously called subnets) and create their own validation networks, which don’t have to validate the core Avalanche X, P and C-Chains.
F Foundation highlights that Fchain will be validated by a decentralized network which allows it to be fully community-run.
In order to support the launch, which is expected in 2025, Faraway has also kicked off a points-based social farming campaign. You can register here >>
