Gunzilla Games’ extraction shooter Off The Grid has successfully launched on PC via Epic Games Store as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox X. And now it has a June 2025 release date on Steam.
This version of the shooter will come with full cross-play support across all platforms, allowing players to squad up and compete regardless of hardware.
There is, however, no mention of the game’s blockchain elements.
Infamously, Steam doesn’t allow games with blockchain to list on its platform so the assumption is that this will be a web2 version of the game, in which players can’t collect NFT skins and other items such as weapons and boost, which are integrated into the in-game characters’ cybernetic arms and legs.
The game’s Steam page states that there will be “more than 15 limbs available to loot, steal or drop in from a loadout”, so this seems like a very cutdown selection compared to the web3-enabled version of the game.
More generally, Gunzilla has slowly been allowing players to migrate from the testnet version of its Avalanche-based Gunz blockchain to the mainnet version, which supports the GUN token – it launched on 31st March 2025 – and trading NFTs. Some rare examples have already been traded for over $1,000.
