FIFA Rivals’ NFTs are already live on Mythical Market

The game isn’t going globally live until Thursday 12th June but there are already a selection of FIFA Rivals‘ NFTs live on the Mythical Market.

It’s not clear why this is the case. It could be these are NFTs that have been generated by players during the game’s soft launch. Or it could just be that Mythical has released some random items to test the marketplace functionality.

Either way, anyone can now start buying and trading these assets, although because the game is not yet live, the prices for these items are likely to be much higher than they will be when the game is formally live and thousands of players are creating NFTs by playing the game and buying IAPs.

Indeed, at present, there are less than 200 NFTs available, ranging from balls, kits and victory animations to what is a very odd selection of players.

Examples include England players Aaron Ramsdale and Kobbie Mainoo and Portugal’s Joao Felix.

It’s also interesting to note that when it comes to in-game items, some such as kits appear to be purely cosmetic.

Others enable bonuses. For example, it’s stated that “Balls determine who is the home team by comparing their aura before a match begins. Balls with higher aura have a higher chance of being used in the match. Win matches with your ball to get its bonus applied”.

In addition, these are consumable items, with each ball having a number of charges, or uses, before its functionality stops.
