B3 goes harder on gaming with “crypto gaming” B3PC now available for pre-order

In an interesting strategic move, Base-based gaming blockchain B3 has acquired PC builder Andromeda Insights.

The US company specializes in building custom gaming PCs for pro gamers and content creators and as part of the deal now plans to build the B3PC, which it labels “a PC purpose-built for crypto gaming”.

As well as the usual high-end components, this PC will include:

  • a built-in Trezor Safe 5 hardware wallet,
  • the ability to instantly disconnect from the internet,
  • a “delete” button that enables users to erase all hard drive data, and
  • a big red “destroy” button which physically destroys the PC’s memory chip.

It hopes to launch the hardware sometime in Q1 2026. Interested parties can preorder now, paying a fully refundable $200 deposit but only for delivery in the US.

The hardware’s final cost has not yet been revealed, Andromeda’s pre-built PCs range from $1,400 to $4,900.

Of course, as well as the hardware, owners will get access to special drops and assets on the B3 blockchain as has happened with crypto hardware such as Solana’s Saga and Seeker phones, and Sui’s forthcoming SuiPlay0X1 gaming portable.

As for the reasons B3 is interested in getting into the notorious tricky hardware business, it says the move is about expanding beyond its chain to create a fully integrated ecosystem spanning protocols, apps, and hardware to support the complete blockchain gaming experience.

Building PCs since 2022, Andromeda has generated sales of more than $5 million through word-of-mouth marketing.

“Andromeda Insights and B3 are committed to the ongoing evolution of the gaming industry and are working together to catalyze innovation at the intersection of performance and ownership. Our partnership will further develop gaming systems and platforms that empower both developers and players,” said Andromeda founder and CEO Matt Huffman, who will continue to lead the company.

“We’re creating hardware that acknowledges the reality of today’s gaming community – people who game also participate in Web3 ecosystems, and need equipment built for all their lifestyle needs,” added NPC Labs’ CTO Sean Geng.

B3PC’s full product reveal is scheduled for July 2025. In the meantime, you can sign up for updates and presale here.
