Gunzilla’s GUN token is expanding to Solana

Currently only deployed on Gunzilla Games’ GUNZ blockchain, which runs on Avalanche, the GUN token is now expanding to L1 blockchain Solana, in what is described as a multi-chain strategy.

Existing GUN tokens will remain on GUNZ and Avalanche unless users choose to bridge them to Solana from Thursday 10th July, but this is not mandatory.

The move is somewhat surprising in light of Gunzilla building its own GUNZ infrastructure in order to streamline web3 experiences.

One of the main reasons for this cross-chain expansion seems to be a hope of gaining new players and mindshare, given Solana’s reputation for high token liquidity, especially around memecoins.

“Solana is home to some of the largest applications in the entire industry, complete with a massive die-hard community,” commented a GUNZ spokesperson in an X post, adding “our expansion to Solana will provide more accessibility to the token, particularly for U.S. users”.

Currently working on the full mainnet migration of PC/console shooter Off The Grid from testnet to mainnet, Gunzilla’s own regulated custodial wallet – now in its “final stage” of revisions.

Once completed, all Off The Grid testnet wallets should be able to fully migrate. An initial 21,000 accounts are already on mainnet, but Gunzilla says a further 16.8 million are waiting to be migrated.

More generally, Gunzilla also promises that “new drops, new partnerships, and new experiences are imminent”.
