Parallel launches AI-powered Colony: Survival globally on mobile

Parallel Studios has globally launched its AI-powered strategy game Colony: Survival, with the free-to-play title now available through the Apple App Store and Google Play.

The worldwide release on 3rd September follows almost a year of restricted testing. Colony entered Early Alpha Access on 22nd September 2025, but that version was exclusively available to owners of Solana’s Seeker smartphone.

Set within the science-fiction universe established by Parallel TCG, Colony: Survival is a mobile 4X strategy game in which players rebuild a settlement on an Earth devastated by conflict between the five Parallel factions.

Players begin with a Reactor and gradually expand their base by gathering resources, upgrading buildings and recruiting additional colonists. They must also craft equipment, manage their settlement and defend it through PvE lane battles. A PvP world map allows players to scout and attack rival colonies, send out Convoys and compete on a leaderboard.

The feature distinguishing Colony from conventional base-building games is its use of generative AI. Instead of simply issuing commands through menus, players establish the personality of an AI-powered colonist and communicate with it using natural language. Conversations can influence its motivations, decisions and approach to problems encountered by the colony.

Generative Dilemmas allow players to type their own responses to challenges rather than choosing from a fixed list of options. The colonist then interprets the proposal and decides how to approach the situation. Parallel notes that access to these custom responses may depend on a subscription.

Colony also includes two AI-supported creation systems. The Fabricator lets players describe cosmetic weapons and helmets, review a generated 2D preview and then turn the design into an equippable 3D object. Creating these items consumes Weave, a dedicated in-game currency.

Separately, an interactive character called Skipjack helps players devise functional weapons and tools capable of addressing colony problems. These items use the game’s conventional crafting system, including resource requirements, queues and completion times.

The global release represents a significant expansion from Colony’s Seeker-only alpha, although the game’s positioning has evolved since it was first announced. Parallel’s original vision focused heavily on autonomous AI Avatars with individual objectives, evolving memories and their own blockchain wallets. These agents were expected to make independent decisions and conduct onchain transactions within a Solana-based economy.

The current mobile presentation places greater emphasis on familiar 4X strategy gameplay, conversations, personalized dilemmas and AI-generated equipment. Its blockchain infrastructure, connections to Parallel’s Avatar NFT collection and use of the PRIME ecosystem are considerably less prominent in the public-facing store descriptions.

This approach potentially makes Colony more accessible to mainstream mobile players, who can download and begin playing without first purchasing an NFT or navigating a crypto wallet.
