Esports platform DreamTeam raises $5 million seed round

Ukrainian esports outfit DreamTeam has raised $5 million from existing VC Mangrove Capital Partners.

The Luxembourg-based VC is an early stage investor, managing almost $1 billion in venture funding via a portfolio of over 100 companies.

This investment will help us offer millions of gamers a clear-cut way to esports stardom.

This seed round follows $10 million raised via DreamTeam’s ICO in May 2018, which also coincided with an undisclosed investment from Mangrove.

DreamTeam claims that in the past six months it’s become the world’s “most liquid” esports recruitment marketplace.

It currently supports Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and League of Legends, with Fortnite to be added soon.

In future, the platform will also roll out a blockchain-based payment system using its DTT token, enabling gamers to “find teammates, improve skills, manage teams, and earn money”.

“This investment will help us continue to expand our infrastructure platform even faster and offer millions of gamers a clear-cut way to esports stardom,” commented CEO Alexander Kokhanovskyy.

“We have already rolled out many updates and improvements to our platform, and our users will soon get advanced team-management tools as well as unique coaching and analytics modules.”

“Having advised DreamTeam for quite some time now, I am impressed by the quality of the Team and their execution capabilities,” added Mangrove’s David Waroquier.

“I believe that DreamTeam will create the biggest one-stop-shop platform for #1 sports of the future.”
