Still no TGE date, but Cambria’s now minting 4,096 Founding Charter NFTs

Onchain game Cambria is minting 4,096 Founding Charter NFTs on Ethereum as the first stage of Cambria Genesis, a persistent MMORPG that replaces the game’s seasonal Gold Rush format.

The 512 invitation-only Viceroy Charters begun minting on 7th October, at a fixed price for invited participants. The remaining 3,584 go to Founding Citizens on an allowlist. Cambria has not announced the price of either tier.

According to the project’s lead, Ben (@cyberpunk), the Charter mint will be followed by the launch of the $RSGP token and, a day later, an incentivized testnet with a bug bounty. No date has been set for the token launch.

Cambria’s current event launched on 21st May 2026 on Abstract, which has announced that it’s shutting down in December. In its current form, it is a risk-to-earn dungeon crawler run in time-limited seasons, in which players buy Dungeon Keys with USDC and wager them across game modes. Its dashboard reports more than $43 million in cumulative game volume. That figure includes in-game credit recycled between rounds.

The move to Genesis was announced on 15th September, alongside the creation of the Cambria Foundation to “steward and grow the Cambria protocol”. At a Discord AMA, Ben described Genesis as an attempt at “the first nation-scale game economy”.

According to the Genesis website, Charters are needed to “unlock full earnings” in the game. Holders get access to higher-tier zones, drops of NFT loot, and Royal Favor, a points system that converts into $RSGP. To earn, a Charter must be staked to an in-game Venue, such as adventuring or a merchant fleet.

Charter traits are rolled at a reveal after the mint, including one of eight Houses, a home city and role affinities. Charters can be traded from the reveal onwards. More Charters can be issued later by burning Royal Favor and in-game Silver.

Places on the allowlist are by application. Applicants are scored on their Cambria play history and their wallet activity on other chains.

Cambria says Charters and other game assets, including its 3,333 existing Island NFTs, will be held on Ethereum. It has not said which chain $RSGP will launch on.

In Genesis, players deposit USDC, which converts one-to-one into Energy. Energy is used up as players venture outside the game’s cities and feeds a shared betting pool covering player-versus-environment fights, player-versus-player combat and boss encounters. Players come back with Gold, a pro-rata claim on that pool, which they cash out through a Realm Gate that charges an exit fee. Cambria takes a game fee on each cash-in.

The betting pool is held in its own one-to-one reserve. Separately, Cambria will run a treasury funded by game, exit, trading and royalty fees and by Charter sales. The company says the treasury will be held in USDC, not in its own token, and that all mint proceeds go into it as the starting prize pool.

The treasury is split into two funds. A Crown fund pays yield to staked Charters and seeds new prize pools. An $RSGP fund provides token liquidity at launch and pays Bribes, which are revenue-funded lootboxes, to token holders. Holders can lock $RSGP to vote on where incentives are directed.
