Presales provide the first opportunity for blockchain game fans to prove their commitment, as well as hopefully getting some exclusive in-game items and currency at a heavy discount.
Of course, the eventual value of such items remains uncertain, and no-one should buy into a presale in the expectation of making money.
Nevertheless, the ability to truly own items independent of the game that gives them context is something that only blockchain games can do.

MotoGP Ignition
Animoca Brand’s officially-licensed MotoGP Ignition game will launch on the Flow blockchain, with the first activity being an NFT sale on 26 March.
The NFTs sold will be bikes and riders with payment happening either via credit card or the REVV cryptocurrency.

The Sandbox
User-generated content platform The Sandbox is launching its first LAND sale of 2021 on 11 February at 13:00 UTC.
It has raised over $2 million to-date selling around 40% of its LAND total.
This sale will be in conjunction with Binance-owned CoinMarketCap and all LAND sales will be backed with exclusive CoinMarketCap superhero NFTs.
In total, 1,200 premium LANDs and 9 larger Estates will be sold.

Infinite Fleet
Space combat game Infinite Fleet is launching the Security Token Offering for its EXO token on the Stokr platform on 14 January.
The EXO token is designed to provide investors with equity in the game’s developer Exordium Limited, as well as a dividend share of 20% of the game’s future profits. The minimum investment is $50.
The funding generated from the sale will be used to fund development of Infinite Fleet, which is currently in its early stages.
Interested parties will have to be registered via Stokr to participate.
Splinterlands (Hive)
TCG Splinterlands is launching its third and final discounted Land presale on 19 December at 11am EST.
In conjunction with this, the game also giving away prizes worth $100,000 to participants.
One reason for this is the land sale is using a lottery system to gate demand.
Users have to stake their tokens in order to get the chance to buy land but even if they don’t gain the option to buy land, they will still be rewarded with the equivalent value of lottery tickets, providing the chance to win NFT prizes including land, card packs and totems.

The Sandbox (ETH)
The Sandbox is going to restart its halted fourth Land sale (technically 4.3) on 11 December at 1pm GMT.
5,518 Land NFTs will be available, including 2,400 Smurf-themed premium Land NFTs.
All purchases must be made with the SAND cryptocurrency and all Land holders will receive a free Smurf NFT as a special gift.
The original sale was halted as demand crashed the website twice.

F1 Delta Time (ETH)
Animoca Brands is kicking off the new season NFTs for its F1 Delta Time game – which will drop in December – with a 50% discount presale on 30 November.
The presale will allows users to purchase Keys, each of which contains five NFTs of different rarity. The more expensive the Keys, the rarer the NFTs it contains.
To gate demand, those interested in buying Keys will have to deposit their crypto ahead of time in what’s effectively a lottery system. The only payment method available will be F1 Delta Time’s REVV token.
All unused deposits will be returned once the presale is completed.

Tribal Books (WAX)
From WeCan, the developer of Prospectors, comes Tribal Books, a card-based strategy game that’s currently in development, but is targetting mobile users when it’s released in 2021.
The game has launched its first presale, selling four different packs containing cards of various rarities, priced from around $10 to $30.

Splinterlands (Hive)
Currently the most popular blockchain attracting around 6,000 daily active unique wallets, Splinterlands has announced a major expansion with the addition of Land.
The gameplay implications of this are only in the design stages but in order to fund development, the company is kickstarting a discounted sale from 7 November of 30,000 plots priced at $10 each, plus discounts for higher volume purchases.
In total, 150,00 plots will be available, of which 120,000 will be sold.

Reality Gaming Group has launched its Emojibles NFT collection with some limited edition sets available.
More generally, users can start to build up their collection of emojis by buy packs using credit card, PayPal or crypto. These NFT will be characters in the forthcoming Emoji Clash PVP game. A trading marketplace will also launch soon.
