Ultra and Microids announce publishing Partnership

Ultra – Blockchain’s take on Steam – has signed a new multi-year publishing partnership with the French developer and publisher Microids.

The partnership itself brings players face-to-face with a growing list of opportunities to explore and see NFTs in action across a new range of games.

Situated in France, Microids boasts an extensive line of successful games, including Oddworld: Soulstorm and Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo.

While it seems like a sudden partnership to strike up, Ultra’s co-CEO Nicholas Gilot explained how the two companies had discussed potential collaboration for years. As blockchain technology underwent development and growth, Microids saw that now was the time to get started.

“Now that we’re almost ready to release Ultra Games to the public, we’re pleased to have Microids on board as a publishing partner.”

For Microids, the partnership brings with it the potential to harness blockchain tech and NFTs to further engage fans, and make them active partners in its gaming experiences.

“We are eager and excited to partner with Ultra and have the opportunity to reach players through their digital distribution channel, using blockchain technology as well as creating and selling NFTs based on our IPs to our fans in the very near future.”

Previously, Ultra expanded its metaverse to include the extensive line-up of The Walking Dead, courtesy of its partnership with Skybound.
