Having entered the fray (somewhat), Zynga has recently announced a new partnership with Forte’s gaming platform to develop new and innovative blockchain gaming projects. As a surface reading, it appears to be a collaborative effort in game development, with Zynga providing Forte with the room to create blockchain-based titles oriented around the former’s intellectual portfolio.
“Our goal is to bring a new level of quality and fun into Web3 and blockchain games, while also providing a safe and trusted ecosystem that will keep our valued players and communities entertained for years to come,” according to Zynga’s Matt Wolf, the companies recently-hired VP of Blockchain Gaming. “We’re excited to partner with Forte because of the team’s long‐term vision and approach to blockchain solutions and web3 development.”
Given Zynga’s strong reputation as a mobile game developer with millions of active users, it makes sense that these would be priorities for the team. Of course, with Forte’s track record as a blockchain platform for a growing range of game publishers, the two are well-paired for this.
“Our goal is to bring a new level of quality and fun into Web3 and blockchain games, while also providing a safe and trusted ecosystem that will keep our valued players and communities entertained for years to come… We are proud to partner with Zynga as we look to advance the blockchain gaming ecosystem in a responsible way that will engage and benefit gamers, and provide them more economic opportunities.”Forte Co-Founder & CEO Josh Williams
Forte has been a strong presence in the blockchain world. This year, for example, the platform announced new funds of $100 million with Xpring and $150 million in conjunction with Solana Ventures and Griffin Gaming.
