Immutable’s IMX is the first blue chip gaming token to fully unlock
In a mark of blockchain gaming’s chronological maturity, Immutable’s IMX has become the first major token to become fully unlocked.
Launched in early November 2021, it was pre-sold on the CoinList platform priced at $0.16, quickly reaching an all-time-high of over $9 later in November, during the Covid-inspired crypto boom.
Since then, however, the price has gradually dropped, in part as more of the 2 billion tokens have been regularly unlocked. The current price is $0.41, giving the project a market cap of $813 milion and ranking it as the #121th crypto by total valuation.
As for other gaming tokens, the next highest percentage in terms of their circulating supply are
- APE at 91%,
- PENGU at 90%, and
- BEAM and MANA at 88%.

And two of IMX’s closest contemporaries still have ways to go.
Axie Infinity’s AXS – launched November 2020 – is on 62% and The Sandbox’s SAND – launched in August 2020 – at 82%.
