Wemade adds Chainlink CCIP integration ahead of Night Crows’ launch

South Korean gaming company Wemade has announced its omnichain protocol Unagi has integrated cross-chain infrastructure Chainlink CCIP on the Wemix 3.0 mainnet.

In a quest to enable secure cross-chain interoperability, Chainlink CCIP has been integrated with Unagi(x), which is described as Unagi’s interoperability engine, on Wemade’s native Wemix 3.0 blockchain. Unagi(x) currently supports nine blockchains, including Arbitrum, Avalanche, BNB, Ethereum, Klaytn, Kroma, Optimism, Polygon, and Wemix 3.0.

The announcement comes ahead of the global launch of Wemade’s anticipated MMORPG Night Crows on Tuesday 12th March. Through this integration between Unagi(x) and Chainlink, the game will support interoperability across six chains, including Wemix 3.0, Kroma, Avalanche, BNB Chain, Ethereum, and Polygon via its Una wallet.

“Unagi is expected to bring to life on the Wemix Play platform, the most sustainable blockchain game economy currently attainable, and make blockchain interoperability a reality,” explained Wemade EVP Won Il Suh in a previous interview with BlockchainGamer.biz.

“I am very impressed by how Wemade is on the cutting edge of blockchain gaming, a growing part of the entire blockchain economy, which I believe will eventually intersect with DeFi in new and interesting ways. We are excited to support them in their plans to lead the blockchain gaming community into the future with a secure connectivity solution,” said Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov.
