Nway reveals cross-platform game Olympics Go! Paris 2024
Two years following the launch of Olympic Games Jam: Beijing 2022, web3 gaming company nWay has now announced its publishing a new title, Olympics Go! Paris 2024.
Developed by Canadian game studio Nvizzio Creations and US-based gaming tech provider GlobalStep, the game contains a bundle of mini-games revolving around 12 Olympic sports including swimming, fencing, and gymnastics. It also features a game of breaking (breakdancing), which debuts as a sport at the Paris Olympics later this year.
Apart from its hybrid casual sports elements, the game is also a city-building simulator, which allows players to build and customize an Olympic host city. As players compete for gold medals by taking part in various sporting events, they will unlock their own city, which can then be customized and used to level up athletes’ abilities. Success in sport events earns players in-game Fan points, which can further be used for levelling up venues and buildings.
A subsidiary of Animoca Brands, nWay publishes and develops cross-platform games – with a more recent focus on web3 games. Its latest title will be available both for mobile and PC and is slated for soft launch during April 2024.
nWay co-CEO Kristen Salvatore commented, “We at nWay are excited to announce our upcoming game in celebration of the Olympic Games Paris 2024. Olympics™ Go! Paris 2024 was developed with the IOC to capture the spirit of the Olympics and bring it to players everywhere.”
“Olympics™ Go! Paris 2024 encapsulates the Olympic spirit and global appeal of the Olympic Games Paris 2024. By integrating iconic Olympic sports and introducing innovative elements like breaking, the game reflects the Olympics’ commitment to promoting diversity and modernity while inspiring excellence and camaraderie among participants”, added IOC Deputy Managing Director Elisabeth Allaman.
By pre-registering via the app store or website users can unlock exclusive in-game digital items, as well as claim a free Olympics™ Go! Paris 2024 NFT pin of the Paris 2024 mascot later this year.
