Much anticipated PC MMORPG MapleStory N goes live globally on 15th May

Nexon’s blockchain subsidiary Nexpace has unveiled the global launch date for its MapleStory IP-based MMORPG MapleStory N.
Dropping 15th May, it marks the first official game release within Nexpace’s MapleStory Universe. With the game, players are offered a PC-based 2D side-scrolling experience merged with web3 features. At launch, players, creators and developers are also encouraged to contribute to the game’s evolution through UGC and various applications, in return for ecosystem token rewards. The game’s assets are tradable NFTs, introducing new ways for players to interact with the IP.
“With MapleStory N, we’ve built a platform where players don’t just participate, but actively shape the worlds they inhabit, paving the way for a more immersive and community-driven future for the gaming industry”, said Nexpace CEO Sunyoung Hwang.
Deployed on its native Avalanche-based MSU blockchain, it’s built on gasless blockchain infrastructure, using AvaCloud to offer secure onchain transactions. During its previous playtests, MapleStory N saw around 32 million on-chain transactions.
Additionally
- the total number of unique wallets registered on the MSU testnet during the playtest period reached 972,000,
- 76.2% of circulating in-game tokens were actively spent, and
- the total number of users interacting with MSU reached 506,000, with one in two consistently playing MapleStory N (47-54% retention rate).

“The launch of MapleStory N marks the culmination of years of development, rigorous user testing, and unwavering community support,” explained Hwang.
Only the beginning
Initially announced in 2023, MapleStory N marks the beginning of a continuous narrative within the wider MapleStory Universe ecosystem. As such, it lays the foundation for sustainable user-driven activities and ever expanding Synergy Apps.
Following the launch, MapleStory Universe will evolve through player-driven contributions, content creation, and an open sustainable web3 economy. Nexpace is also planning for future expansion into other gaming IPs.
