Pixels launches ecosystem staking across 3 games, with more to come

As highlighted in our recent interview with CEO Luke Barwikowski, Pixels has launched its new ecosystem staking system.

In the initial version, this allows users to stake their PIXEL tokens into yield-bearing accounts for the three games currently using the PIXEL token – Pixels, Pixel Dungeons and Forgotten Runiverse.

Each game will offer a different level of APR depending on the proportion of overall PIXEL rewards they receive combined with how much of that they want to offer to their stakers.

Over time, more games will be added to this list, including those running on chains other than Ronin, with their share of the PIXEL reward pool calculated by how much PIXEL has been staked to them.

The staking platform will also accept the new vPIXEL token when it’s released. This is an onchain token but one that’s designed only for in-game spending and staking. Users who want to cash it out of the ecosystem will have to pay a farming fee – around 50% – which will be redistributed to staking wallets.

“PIXEL Staking is about more than just rewards. It’s about giving players a real voice in the future of our ecosystem. By backing the games they believe in, players help guide resource allocation and ultimately shape the success and strength of the ecosystem in a way that’s organic, player-driven, and built for the long term,” commented Barwikowski.
