FIFA Rivals goes live on 12th June, boosted by a multi-year Adidas deal

Mythical Games’ much-anticipated mobile game FIFA Rivals is going live globally through app stores on Thursday 12th June.

The launch is happening in conjunction with the first FIFA Club World Cup, which starts on Sunday 15th June, with PSG versus Atletico Madrid being the highlight of the opening day.

As for FIFA Rivals, its impact has been further boosted by a multi-year licensing deal with Adidas, which will see the brand featuring heavily in the game.

Its involvement will range from providing exclusive branded digital assets such as kits, jerseys and boots to the Adidas Training Facility where players can level up their cards and complete challenges. An interesting aspect will be the release of boots, which in some way will be linked to real-world player performance.

Of course, as with precursor NFL Rivals, FIFA Rivals will enable players to build a squad consisting of real-world players, with these NFTs available to trade on the Mythical Marketplace. Adidas’ in-game items will also be tradable.

To-date, NFL Rivals has generated around $13 million in lifetime NFT trading volume.

FIFA Rivals is all about celebrating the global passion for football in a fresh and modern way,”
said Mythical Games’ CEO John Linden.

“Bringing Adidas into this world gives players a deeper cultural connection and the chance to represent one of the most iconic brands in football – on and off the pitch. This collaboration sets a new standard for how brands show up in digital experiences.”
