How has MapleStory N performed four months since launch?

It’s been four months since South Korean publisher Nexon launched its first blockchain game MapleStory N and the Henesys blockchain via its UAE-based subsidiary Nexpace.

Looking at daily activity in terms of unique wallets, the broad conclusion is that the game has seen steady growth.

This has been punctuated by some sharp declines, however, notably in June when the game first started widespread account banning due to the number of bots operating.

This resulted in the launch of a Credit Level system, which requires wallets to hold 10 NXPC tokens to access the game or pass KYC verification.

More recently, Nexpace said it had banned another 20,000 accounts for running in-game macros.

Nevertheless, the game’s DAUWs is growing with a weekly peak in activity every Sunday.

Daily wallet activity is not the only measure of success, however, with the price of the game’s NXPC token being an obvious example of a key data point.

This has seen a strong decline since its launch in May, to-date down 74%.

Of course, almost all blockchain game tokens have performed in a similar manner during 2025, so while this doesn’t necessarily demonstrate a strong in-game economy, it shouldn’t be viewed as a particular weakness of MapleStory N either.

But it does have consequences when looking at how the game’s NFT trading activity has changed over the past four months.

When tracked against the game’s NESO token, the value of NFT trading over the past 30 days has dropped from 1 trillion NESO to around 550 billion NESO.

In terms of the US dollar, the decline in the 30 day trading volume is more accelerated, down from a peak of over $10 million to around $4 million.

Of course, four months is a very short period of time on which to judge a game such as MapleStory N.

Nexpace’s future plans are to expand into what it labels the MapleStory Universe, which will see more games and apps launched, with a focus on enabling third party developers to launch and monetize their own products.

As Nexpace’s chief operating officer Keith Kim explained, “Our long-term goal is to unlock a true Infinite IP Playground where IP is dynamic, open and continuously reimagined through player experimentation and creativity.

“For example, players can enjoy core MapleStory mechanics, like item enhancement, directly through the web without logging into the full game anytime soon. This means that casual players will be able to participate in MapleStory Universe’s core loop anytime and anywhere.”
