LINE web3 idle hit Slime Miner released though app stores

Having attracted over 18 million registered users and 150,000 daily active players on the LINE Mini Dapp platform, which uses the Kaia blockchain, idle mining game Slime Miner is now expanding its horizons.

It’s now been released via Apple App Store and Google Play store in a version of the game and will be promoted through Immutable’s Play marketing program, although it will not be using the Immutable blockchain.

And while the two versions of the game are functionally similar each runs on separate servers so there is no interoperability. Moreover, the mobile apps are not available in South Korea or Singapore.

As well as its impressive user base, Slime Miner has also been one of the most lucrative games on LINE Mini Dapp, generating a peak of over $2 million a month. Alongside its fiat IAPs, the game has also seen over $3 million-worth of KAIA tokens spent.

However, it’s worth pointing out that part of this revenue will have been spent in anticipation of the game’s forthcoming token launch.

In addition to its token, the game also offers NFTs but these are designed to be long-term rewards and the game doesn’t require any blockchain knowledge, nor does it promote itself as a blockchain game.

Designed as an idle miner game, Slime Miner also includes other game modes including a PVP racing mode and a guild system that enables players to engage in a daily war against another guild for special rewards.

“This is a milestone moment for Slime Miner. By combining app store accessibility with Immutable Play’s ecosystem, we’re making Web3 gaming approachable at scale. Our focus has always been on delivering fun first, while enabling players to enjoy true digital ownership within a sustainable game world,” commented CEO Shin Myung Yong.
