The Ronin blockchain has concluded its third Proof of Distribution season, which saw 163 builders rewarded for their apps’ performance.
Rewards are distributed in RON tokens, based on algorithmic scores derived from gas usage, user activity, retention, NFT volume, DEX liquidity, and smart contract execution from Dune data.
As was previously the case, Axie Infinity was top with a score of 570, thanks to its massive 7.6 million contract calls and strong DEX activity. It got 85,170 RON, worth around $4,300.
Idle browser/mobile game Craft World was second, outpacing the competitors in direct engagement, taking top marks in gas consumption, activity, and growth. It got 53,275 RON ($2,600). Ragnarok Landverse America was in third place, rewarded with 38,228 RON ($1,900), for its NFT marketplace activity abd contract interactions.
The rewards were notably top-heavy this season, with the top five applications captured a dominant share of the distribution pool, of over 236,000 RON (more than $11,800).
Other insights included saw Pixels (#7) recording 1.4 million contract calls, with robust DEX activity, but low snapshot growth held its score to 141.0 (21,055 RON). Titles like Wild Forest (#14), Chicken Saga (#15), and Fableborne (#16) also carved out solid middle-tier scores by driving aggressive NFT transaction volume.
However, the leaderboard exhibited a severe power-law distribution. Scores decayed dramatically after rank 20 (Kaidro). Ranks 23 through 35 shared identical payouts, driven entirely by baseline gas usage with zero registered DEX or NFT activity.
So as Season 03 closes, the mandate for Season 04 is clear: builders must prioritize multi-channel engagement, retention, and trading volume over simple smart contract execution to climb the ranks.
