Good Blockchain Gaming News: MapleStory N’s most expensive NFT sells for $18,617

With many blockchain games struggling with product-market-fit and funding, it’s easy to get discouraged.

16th June: MapleStory N’s most expensive NFT sells for $18,617
Another day. Another record. MapleStory N’s most expensive NFT is now a level 211 character, which sold for 1.5 million NESO, currently worth $18,617.

13th June: MapleStory N’s most expensive NFT sold for $13,451
Activity on the MapleStory Universe NFT marketplace continues to rise fast with almost 1 million wallets having accessed it, and almost 21 million NFT sold. Total trading volume is now around $13 million.
Today’s headline, however, is that there’s a new most expensive NFT.
Previously, the most expensive NFT from the MapleStory N game was sold for 888,888,888 NESO, but the new highest – a level 202 thief – sold for 900 million NESO, which is worth $13,882.
10th June: Nexon’s Henesys blockchain hits 84,688 DAUWs
Hopefully the headlines will continue as Nexon’s MapleStory N MMORPG powers through its launch month because its underlying Henesys blockchain has hit another all-time high in terms of daily active unique wallets.
The total of 84,668 DAUWs broke the previous total of 70,414, which was reached on 2nd June.
Nexon has stated it’s been working hard on stopping bots and banning accounts which hack the game in the attempt to speedrun the levelling up process. But it looks like that organic demand for the game – which still isn’t officially playable in key markets such as South Korea, Japan and US and UK – remains high.
9th June: Pixels player pays university tuition with in-game earnings
Derek Cariño is a certified chef in the Philippines. He earned about 6,000 PIXEL tokens during the first Pixels’ play-to-airdrop campaign in February 2024, and used these funds to pay off his culinary school’s student tuition – around $2,250.
He also used some of these earnings to purchase a secondhand scooter, shortening his commute to work.

4th June: Fishing Frenzy
Ronin casual sim Fishing Frenzy has completed its 8-week season 1, with Derek Lau, the CEO of its developer Uncharted, providing some interesting figures.
There were:
- 1.8 million log ins for the web game, although this includes guests and “many bots”,
- 50,000 daily active unique users on average,
- 35,548 active wallets in total,
- 9,800 spending wallets with an average spend of 68 RON ($40),
- around 5,000 daily active unique wallets, and
- overall NFT trading volume of $200,000.
In terms of Fishing Frenzy’s season 2, Lau says the team is looking to further scale to news users as well as using tokens to improve engagement and drive growth, while also “making sure earning is not the expectation even if it’s a motivation”.
