Tokyo-headquartered Coincheck has announced it will start listing three major NFT related gaming currencies, in addition to The Sandbox’s SAND token.
Coincheck is one of the world’s leading crypto exchanges and the number one exchange in Japan based on app downloads. As the first Japanese exchange, Coincheck is set to add Yuga Labs’ ApeCoin, Axie Infinity’s AXS token, and Immutable’s IMX token to its listing.
Interestingly, South Korean exchange Upbit added support for IMX earlier this week, helping the price jump over 30% in 24 hours.
Coincheck director Satoshi Hasuo comments, “As a leading company in crypto asset trading services in Japan, our company intends to support creators and businesses who are taking on the challenge of creating new products, including web3 games, in order to contribute to the further development of the web3/crypto industry. The currency that we are now starting to handle is in line with that idea.”
As part of its increasing support for web3 gaming, Coincheck also started selling The Sandbox Land NFTs on its NFT marketplace earlier in September 2023, and officially listed the metaverse’s SAND token on its exchange.
