Line Next launching web3 mini-game platform to Line’s 2 billion chat users
Looking to leverage the 2 billion users of Line’s messaging app, Line Next has unveiled a new platform for web3 mini-games.
Similar to Telegram, because the web app is accessible from Line’s chat platform, users don’t need any additional downloads to play games. It’s designed to let users access games and dapps, connect wallets, play, and invite friends directly within the platform using their Line ID.
Additionally, users will be rewarded for using their linked wallets. A referral system will also be introduced which will allow users to invite friends, with joint rewards received through its Social Reward API.
A dedicated Portal will also be developed to facilitate trading of tokens and items.
Following on from the recent launch of Kaia – an L1 blockchain merged between Finschia and Klaytn – Kaia and Line Next have launched a joint initiative to attract web3 builders to its SDK.
Called Kaia Wave, the program is essentially a developer program supported by a $10 million fund. Up to $1.2 million can be granted per developer. The SDK includes wallet, mini dapp, and portal APIs.
The platform is scheduled for launch in Q4 2024.
