South Korean loyalty app SK Planet to integrate Mocaverse

Leading South Korean data and tech company SK Planet has announced a partnership with Mocaverse. Together the companies aim to onboard SK Planet’s 28 million unique members to web3 by integrating Mocaverse‘s Realm SDK into SK Planet’s existing internet and communications services, by co-creating blockchain-based user experiences.

In a significant deal for Animoca Brands and its Mocaverse project, SK Planet, which is a SK Telecom subsidiary, will also adopt the network’s MOCA Coin as the underpinning utility token for its services. As such, MOCA will serve as the main reward for consumer onboarding to SK Planet services such as OK Cashbag, Syrup, and more.

Joining Mocaverse partner projects such as One Football and MyAnimeList, SK Planet will leverage Mocaverse’s Realm network to reach its combined ~250 million monthly active users, and grant early access to numerous web3 experiences including games, IP-based products, sports, music, and more.

Mocaverse project lead Kenneth Shek commented, “We anticipate this initiative will accelerate the flywheel of Mocaverse’s ecosystem. South Korea is a critical consumer market for web3 with a rich culture of IP and content, and SK Planet is the best partner we could ask for to kick off our collective mission in the country.”

SK Planet SBO Kim Kyo-soo added, “Through our close partnership with Animoca Brands and Mocaverse, which aims to expand customer experiences in the Korea market, we will strive to establish ourselves as an effective channel and deliver innovative solutions that resonate with local consumers.”
