EVE Frontier goes into closed alpha on 10th December

CCP Games has announced that its fully onchain multiplayer sandbox game EVE Frontier will launch an always-on closed alpha server on Tuesday 10th December. Access will be limited to founder access holders.

The closed alpha will allow permanent access to the game and its systems and items, although many aspects will change through the subsequent development process.

Founder access can be purchased in various tiers, starting from $29.99 to $89.99, available from the 5th December but there will also be a free trial option via which players can apply for access.

As well as granting the ability to play EVE Frontier, founder access holders will get additional benefits such as name reservation, cosmetics, Discord roles and access to CCP Games’ developer streams. Holders will accumulate premium subscription time for when the game finally goes live.

It is also worth noting that the closed alpha will be operate under an NDA so players will not be able to share gameplay publicity.

“In EVE Frontier we are deepening the contribution and connection players have over a living galaxy. A virtual world where developers and players are equals, where the rules apply to all,” said CCP Games CEO, Hilmar Veigar Pétursson.

“Our long-term vision is to create an open ecosystem built, operated and governed by the Frontier’s inhabitants themselves. Founder Access is the start of a new and exciting phase in this development, giving players the chance to be a foundational part of our collaborative approach in a meaningful way.”
