Sports brawler Sparkball is now coming to Somnia

New EVM L1 blockchain Somnia has promised an aggressive plan to onboard existing and new content prior to its mainnet going live, with US developer Opti Games’ Sparkball being the first major title signed up.
The PC-based 4v4 sport brawler was originally announced for Solana, and then was going to launch on the Monad blockchain, but a chance meeting at ETHDenver with Somnia founder Paul Thomas lead to a change of direction.
Having partnered with guilds such as YGG, Paladins and Tempest, the game is currently completing its pre-season event which ends on 9th June.
In addition to the web2 game, Sparkball’s web3-enabled universe is called Sparkadia, which handles IP, ecosystem and community.
The developer recently announced a $2 million investment from L1D, CMS Holdings, Impossible Finance and YGG, as well as integration with blockchain infra provider Sequence.
