Esport team Dignitas launches its Digi AI agent on Theta Lab’ EdgeCloud infra
Esports team Dignitas is launching its own AI agent to manage activity in its 70,000 player-strong DIGFort Fortnite Tournament server, and being an always-on resource for its community.
The agent will take the form of Dignitas’ Digi mascot and run on Theta Labs’ EdgeCloud infrastructure, which consists of 30,000 distributed GPU nodes. As well as AI traffic, it’s designed to deliver rendering, gaming and general online media tasks.
In terms of how Digi will impact tournaments, Dignitas says players will be able query the AI agent for instant support, including asking questions about rules, point systems, schedules, and procedures, acting as a dedicated, real-time virtual agent. This will enable the human admins to focus on more complex support tasks.
More generally, Digi will be accessible through its Discord server providing immediate access to tournament information, player statistics, and team updates across all competitive titles.
Founded in 2003 in the UK, and now part of the Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment which owns Philadelphia 76ers, NHL’s New Jersey Devils and Crystal Palace FC, Dignitas has captured 18 world championships across multiple gaming titles, including back-to-back RLCS World Championships in Rocket League and recent FNCS Major victories in Fortnite.
“With Digi, we’re not just adopting new technology; we’re creating a more meaningful and direct connection with our community. Whether it’s a fan wanting to know more about our legacy or a DIGFort player needing a quick rule clarification, Digi will be there to level-up their experience,” commented VP Partnerships Jake Clements.
Theta Labs’ Mitch Liu added, “”Powering Digi on our Theta EdgeCloud platform is a perfect showcase of how AI can serve a dual purpose – deepening community engagement while also solving complex operational challenges. We are thrilled to partner with a legendary organization like Dignitas to bring this innovative vision to life.”
