IRL tree planting web3 game My Lovely Planet gains Google promotion

French web3 developer Imagine Games has announced that Google has selected its mobile game My Lovely Planet as part of its WeArePlay campaign.

CEO Clément Le Bras says it’s the first time a blockchain game has been promoted by Google in this way.

“We are honored to be featured in #WeArePlay and hope this recognition inspires a new wave of purpose-driven mobile games focused on sustainability,” Le Bras says.

My Lovely Planet is a match-3 puzzle game that’s designed to make a difference in the world, with the company committed to planting one tree for every 100 levels completed in-game. To-date, over 380,000 trees have been planted in Madagascar with its NGO partner Graine de Vie.

The company has also dedicated 15% of its global turnover to the environment, and 15% of its tokens are locked into an Environment Treasury, which will decide how to spend them via a DAO.

Backed by Ubisoft via its Entrepreneur Lab and Unity through its Unity for Humanity program, My Lovely Planet is available through Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Key to the game’s future growth is its My Lovely Coin, an ERC20 token which launched on the Polygon blockchain in June 2024. Players can stake their MLC, which generates the in-game offchain currency Diamonds.

Players can also convert Diamonds back into MLC if they have at least $100-worth of MLC staked.

The MLC tokenomics are also controlled as 45% of the game’s IAP revenue is spent buying back the MLC token, and 2% of these repurchased tokens are burned. In addition, 120 million MLC tokens were burned at the start of 2025. The project’s tokenomics plan to reduce overall supply from its current level of around 230 million to 100 million.
