Abstract Chickens starts hatching on Ethereum ahead of Abstract’s shutdown
Hot potato NFT game Abstract Chickens has opened its bridge to Ethereum more than a month early, giving holders of the 3,333 eggs a chance to hatch them before the Abstract network shuts down.
By 4th November, the project’s dashboard showed 285 chickens had arrived on Ethereum, about 8.6% of the collection, with 3,048 still on Abstract.

Created by Yuga Labs’ 0xQuit, the game turns Abstract’s scheduled shutdown on 15th December into a test of timing and nerve.
Each egg originally cost 0.01 ETH, to mint of which 0.008 ETH went into the game’s reserve. To leave, a holder burns their egg on Abstract. Once the message settles through LayerZero, the project then mints randomized chicken artwork on Ethereum and also pays out some ETH in the same transaction.
The payout increases as more chickens leave, with the final chicken getting half the ETH left in the pot. Any eggs left on Abstract after its shutdown will be lost forever.
In terms of the current NFT collections, trading remains concentrated on Abstract. OpenSea showed an egg floor of 0.0388 ETH, 194 listings and roughly $9,100 in volume over 24 hours.
On Ethereum, there have only been six sales, totalling 0.2103 ETH, at prices from 0.030 to 0.045 ETH. The three latest sales were all close to 0.030 ETH.
