Cambria volume breaks $25 million as RSGP TGE approaches

Degens are preparing to party like it’s early 2024 as Abstract risk-to-earn game Cambria finally prepares to launch its RSGP token, on what some optimists hope will be a +$50 million FDV.

The exact date has yet to be announced, but following a number of delays, early September is the current rumor, something that’s driven the expected rush of incentivized gaming as players look to boost their rewards.

The first stage was Genesis Loot Drop, which scored wallets across five chains on their broader onchain history. This closed its claim window on 5th August, leaving interested players to engage with the current event, which launched on 21st May.

According to the official dashboard, Cambria’s cumulative game volume has climbed to over $25 million in the days since. The developer has booked over $450,000 in revenue, although this excludes a $132,093 self-imposed write-down following a mispriced item bug exploit.

Interestingly, the most popular mode is now Dungeon Fishing, which was added in July and accounts for roughly 83% of volume. It’s the most degen option in terms of speed of play and rewards. The original real-time Dungeons combat mode only accounts for around $4 million of volume, with the remaining two modes, Sword in the Stone and Gizmo’s Folly, very minor by comparison.

In terms of how the game works, players buy keys to play the various modes, which reward them with keys and other items such as gems, crafted items and loots. The keys and other rare items can be cashed out.
