TapNation bringing web3 to Monster Squad Rush and Cornhole League with Sequence and Arbitrum
French hypercasual mobile game publisher TapNation continues to experiment, adding more blockchain to its games.
Its latest move has seen it strike a long term deal with Sequence and the Arbitrum Foundation to enable the frictionless integration of blockchain features to some of its games.
The first titles launched using the new tech are lite RPG Monster Squad Rush and competitive arcade game Cornhole League, which now include digital asset ownership, in-game NFT rewards, and player-driven economies.
However, the web3 elements aren’t open to all players of the games, as you have to get to level 5 before they are unlocked in Monster Squad Rush. This enables access to the Reward mode, in which a wallet is created for players using Sequence’s wallet, which requires Gmail, Apple, Facebook, Epic, or Twitch, without requiring browser extensions or complex seed phrases.
“Collaborating with Sequence and The Arbitrum Foundation enables us to introduce innovative features without compromising what makes our games fun and accessible. Monster Squad Rush and Cornhole League are the first steps in a broader strategy to bring web3 to our global audience,” said TapNation’s head of web3 Philippe Lenormand.
Over time, TapNation expects to announce more titles that will using the technology.

“This collaboration highlights a shared commitment to show players and developers how rewarding and powerful light-touch web3 integrations in existing games can be,” said Sequence’s head of strategy and partnerships, Sam Barberie.
“TapNation’s massive reach, with +1 billion app downloads to date, combined with Sequence’s developer-friendly platform and Arbitrum’s security and performance, offers a clear blueprint for web3 adoption in mobile gaming.”
