Immutable opens its crypto rewards for web2 games

Having launched its The Main Quest program back in April 2024 and its weekly Perpetual Rewards in April 2025, Immutable is now rolling out access to web2 games, with Ubisoft being the first company to integrate the platform.

Up to this point, users have been encouraged to complete quests, either tasks in live games or social interactions around forthcoming games to earn gems, a points system which drops crypto and other rewards on a weekly basis.

To-date, Immutable has given away over $1 million of IMX tokens.

However, one limitation has been that the only titles involved in these quests have been games that are live or going live on the Immutable zkEVM blockchain.

This new initiative means that any game – whether blockchain or not – can now be featured on the Immutable Play website.

As for the platform’s reach, Immutable claims that it’s been accessed by 5.6 million lifetime wallets, although the weekly rewards program is currently running at around 25,000 wallets.

More generally, Immutable tweeted:

“From today, any web2 studio that meets our quality bar can integrate with Immutable Play.

This will:

  • Give our players access to more top tier games
  • Bring in more users to the ecosystem and our existing games
  • Act as a stepping stone to bring some of the biggest companies in the world to web3 for the first time.”
