100 Thieves to launch Shopify-enabled AI agent using Theta Labs

Following similar moves from Cloud9 and Dignitas, decentralized compute network Theta Labs has signed a deal with esports team 100 Thieves that will see it launching its own AI agent later in 2025.

The strategic partnership will integrate the agent with 100 Thieves’ existing channels, providing fans with a personalized guide across community, commerce and social media activity.

The agent will also be integrated with Shopify, tracking stock levels and merchandise sizes and availability, while providing more relevant information about the team and its activities, including live tournament results.

“Fans will be able to jump onto our site, ask the AI agent where to find an exclusive piece of apparel, and at the same time pull up the latest schedule from one of our teams, all in one interaction. By partnering with Theta, we’re building a smarter, more connected experience that brings every part of 100 Thieves to life in real time,” said COO Julie Van.

In terms of blockchain activity, the agent will run on Theta’s over 30,000 distributed nodes, which are run by data centres and community members. As well as providing AI capacity, it can also handle rendering, gaming and general online media tasks.

“Once up and running the new Shopify-integrated ecommerce AI agent on Theta’s distributed infrastructure will deliver live commerce data, real-time inventory and to their passionate fanbase,” commented Theta’s CEO Mitch Liu.
