When it comes to the most popular blockchain games in terms of onchain activity, the only game in town is currently Pixels.
The Ronin-based social RPG is continuing its upward path, breaking the 800,000 daily active unique wallets-mark during April, and it shows no sign of stopping.
Assuming it breaks the 1 million-mark, its final symbolic level will be the 1.1 million DAUW peak reached by Axie Infinity in November 2021. Surpassing that would see Pixels as the most popular blockchain game ever.
Every other game currently has less than 100,000 daily active unique wallets. And while there hasn’t been much significant movement during 2024, there has been some.
Ronin-based Apeiron has performed well, although in this case, the game is not yet live so wallets are just participating in a token airdrop event. Fully onchain games Alien Worlds and Nine Chronicles swapped the 2nd and 3rd positions with around 70,000 daily active unique wallets. Both have seen some limited growth during 2024.
Also worth noting, Axie Infinity Origins has more than doubled its daily activity to over 35,000 daily active unique wallets thanks to its Daily Bounty, which is a weekly play-to-airdrop event which shares a pot of 10,000 AXS tokens between all participating players.
