Tezos’ Etherlink L2 adds Pikes Arena and Cricket Champions

Following the announcement that Distinct Possibility’s Reaper Actual shooter will be launching on Tezos’ Etherlink blockchain comes further news of games for the EVM L2.

Pikes Arena is a mobile/browser frantic PVP combat game in which players have to balance their need for resources with their battle position as they compete for real-world rewards.

It has three modes.

  • the free-to-play Warm-up mode,
  • the PVP Pike mode in which they can earn PIKE tokens, and
  • the XTZ mode in which you have to wager Tezos tokens.

The game uses Sequence’s account abstraction smart contract wallet and Sequence Builder to streamline the web2-to-web3 user experience.

In contrast, Cricket Champions is a strategy collectible card game, in which players collect cricket items and upgrade them to battle through PVE campaigns and PVP combat. It also has a strong esports metagame.

These titles join the likes of Uranium Miner and TapNation’s Athletic Rush on Etherlink. In total, the blockchain now claims 11 active games with a community of over 180,000 active wallets in the last month.

“The metrics demonstrate the strength of our approach to web3 gaming. By focusing on seamless integration, user acquisition support, dedicated funding, and product expertise, we’ve created an environment where innovative game concepts can thrive,” commented the head of gaming at Tezos’ London R&D hub Trilitech, Efe Kucuk.
