Manchester-based KnownOrigin secured £3.5 million in funding

The Manchester-based NFT startup KnownOrigin has managed to secure over £3.5 million in new funding to support its ecosystem of emerging artists. Funding was led by the two crypto capital venture firms – GBV and Sanctor Capital.

Established back in 2018, KnownOrigin was established in order to provide an open and accessible way for upcoming artists to monetise their art through NFTs. Since then, the company has come to directly work with over 5,000 content creators.

Company Co-Founder, David Moore added the following: “We want to help digital creators monetise their craft. The funding will be reinvested into the business to further support artists in the space.”

It’s unsurprising that the company would earn its fair share of attention from investors. Over the past year, KnownOrigin has managed to generate over $30 million in sales, while observing a 10x increase in its pool of collectors and creators.

Over the same span of time, the company has also struck partnerships with the likes of Adidas, Netflix and Adobe, while developing its own royalties system to support independent artists through secondary sales of their art.
