Zynga has announced the details of its first NFT mint for its forthcoming mini-game platform Sugartown.

The 9,999-strong Ora collection – of which 6,000 will be available – will start minting from 3pm CET on Wednesday 13th September in three waves, the first two of which are accessed via an allowlist. The mint will be free with users paying for their own Ethereum gas fees.

However, Zynga is effectively running a KYC process through the Forte platform, with both the allowlist and public minting restricted to those who can prove they are over 18 years old and are citizens in the US, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, or Vietnam.

It’s an interesting combination of countries that demonstrates Zynga’s status as a US publicly-owned company (part of Take-Two) as well as its focus on the crypto-friendly southeast Asian market.

As for the Oras themselves, they will act as access passes into the game when it goes live. NFT owners will also be able to stake them to generate the energy required to play games, whereby they can earn in-game currency Sugar and access additional rewards.
