Solana partners with Tensor to launch GameShift marketplaces

As part of launching its web3 gaming API GameShift, Solana Labs has partnered with NFT marketplace Tensor to integrate in-game marketplaces. First released in open beta in November 2023, the launch of in-game marketplaces marks the full launch of GameShift, which is designed to help game developers on Solana add blockchain assets to their games code-free.

In addition, exiting beta also means game developers leveraging the API can now access the assets import function.

In conjunction with the GameShift open beta release at its annual conference in November 2023, Solana Labs released a range of features such as fiat credit card payments, non-custodial wallets for asset control, and no need of seed-phrases or passwords to sign in.

While there’s no lack of NFT marketplaces, Tensor has shot up in popularity in recent months thanks to the resurrection of Solana, grabbing the top spot in terms of unique Solana wallets active in the last 24 hours, as per marketplace tracker Tiexo.

Prominent games built on Solana include Aurory, Star Atlas and STEPN, while more recently games like MixMob and Nyan Heroes have gained traction.
