Story-driven RPG Kaidro swaps Immutable to launch on Ronin
Known for its 2020 webtoon series, Kaidro has since evolved into an animation and also a multiplayer action RPG. While announcing in 2023 that the game would deploy on Immutable, developer Gadget-Bot has now revealed that Kaidro will launch exclusively on Sky Mavis’ Ronin network.
“In our journey to bring Kaidro to life, we’ve found incredible partners who align with our vision for the future. As we unveil the next phase of Kaidro, we’re excited to announce our collaboration with Ronin, which will serve as a primary stage for our upcoming launches,” commented Gadget-Bot co-founder Peggy Chung.
Founded by Chung and Robert Simons, the company has created IPs and features for a number of blockbuster projects including Alita: Battle Angel, Jurassic World, Transformers, Call of Duty, and Apex Legends. Its latest project Kaidro offers a transmedia experience including a webcomic, animation and TV series, in addition to a story-driven multiplayer action RPG.
The game spins on a broader narrative set in a post-apocalyptic world in which a mech-wielding faction battles against powerful magic users. With three teams of three players, each with various missions to complete and enemies to fight, the game combines PVP, PVE, and a quest system.
Sky Mavis CEO and co-founder Trung Nguyen commented, “We are excited to announce our partnership with Gadget-Bot. The Kaidro franchise, spanning web comics, games, and animations, is prime for web3 integration, and we see great potential in collaborating to bring uniquely crafted IP to Ronin and beyond.”
In conjunction with the news, Kaidro has also released its latest trailer. In collaboration with Tim Hedrick, who has written for Avatar: The Last Airbender, Avatar: Legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defender, Gadget-Bot has created a trailer and an animated TV series. Other partners include the Odesza duo, renowned for their Game of Thrones music.
