Helmed by gaming veteran Ben Vu, mobile game developer Sky Vu has been announced PocketGamer.biz’s Very Big Indie Pitch winner for topdown mobile shooter Battle Bears Heroes. The award was announced at the annual PG Connects conference in San Francisco, which runs alongside GDC.

Inspired by the Battle Bears franchise’s 2010 classic mobile game BB GO, Battle Bears Heroes is a topdown shooter including multiplayer features and modes such as mini MOBA, death match and battle royale. Additionally, it contains collectible heroes and cosmetics and a competitive leaderboard.
In 2023, the game soft launched across southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
With the global launch just around the corner, Sky Vu recently announced it was parting ways with Sky Mavis’ Ronin network. Which blockchain the game will deploy on instead has not been announced.
