Animoca deal sees Nine Chronicles’ NFTs launch on Japanese marketplace Coincheck

Planetarium’s De: Centralized Cat (D:CC) NFTs, which are utilized in PC/mobile RPG Nine Chronicles M, will be available on Japanese marketplace Coincheck NFT from 3rd April.

In a quest to support global game developers introducing their web3 projects to the Japanese market, Animoca Brands Japan, which is a subsidiary of Animoca, will assist not just this sale, but more generally operate as a bridge between foreign companies and Japan.

Animoca Brands is also the company officially selling the D:CC NFTs.

More broadly, the initiative aims to help web3 developers deal with Japan’s business regulations and practices, which can be a challenge further emphasised by language barriers. With a thriving gaming ecosystem, many global web3 game projects are eyeing the Japanese market. Recently, Animoca Brands helped Australian developer Blowfish facilitate its NFT sales for mech shooter Phantom Galaxies on NFT marketplace αU.

Planetarium is based in South Korea. Following the launch of PC-based RPG Nine Chronicles in 2021, the studio ventured into mobile and launched cross platform Nine Chronicles M in November 2023. The game’s De: Centralized Cat NFTs are in-game items which can be utilized both as a profile image and an avatar for the character used in the game.

Staking the NFTs also allows holders to earn the NCG cryptocurrency and create and power up in-game pets.

A total of 300 NFTs will be available for sale, to an expected starting price of 0.06 ETH. Following the sale, the NFTs will then be tradable on Coincheck’s NFT exchange. Users wanting to purchase one must register an account with Coincheck first.

In related news, Planetarium just completed a collaboration with Animoca Brands’ Mocaverse where players could win in-game resources in Nine Chronicles and earn RP in Mocaverse.
