TreasureDAO ditches Arbitrum to build on ZKsync
After months of pondering where to build its TreasureChain, an overwhelming majority of 99.5% has voted in favour of TreasureDAO migrating from Arbitrum to Matter Labs’ ZKsync.
With its games deployed on Arbitrum, Treasure DAO initially planned to build TreasureChain using Arbitrum Orbit. In February 2024, Treasure unveiled it was open to further options, which caused other networks including Optimism and ZKsnc to reach out and encourage the gaming ecosystem to join them.
Now the decision has been made, and TreasureDAO says it’s working closely with its over 10 ecosystem games to make the transition to zkSync. This also includes some yet unannounced titles.
While the launch of mainnet is set for the next couple of months, a new testnet called Topaz is currently being rolled out. This way, developers and players can get a feel for using the new ZK Stack technology.
In a final post, Treasure DAO has also announced that the token swap between Treasure and the ZKsync Foundation will take place in the coming days.
Ironically, TreasureDAO was one of the key movers behind Arbitrum’s $220 million Gaming Catalyst Program.
