TapNation partners with web3 mobile platform Play

Web3 mobile gaming platform PLAY has announced a partnership with French mobile game developer TapNation, which will see the integration of blockchain features in Rock Crawling: Racing Games 3D.

As part of this collaboration, TapNation is working on features including on-chain tournaments, an in-game marketplace enabling trading and customization of vehicles, and PvP modes in Rock Crawling: Racing Games 3D, which has seen more than 15 million downloads via major app stores. To this end, the developer will leverage PLAY’s dedicated SDK.

More than expanding its own PLAY ecosystem, formerly READYgg, is aiming to bring web3 to the masses through mobile games. Among other features, its multi-platform distribution SDK also enables Telegram integration.

In terms of TapNation, it aims to pioneer emerging tech such as blockchain, and believes mobile games are pivotal to the mass adoption of web3 games. Previously announced deals include Sequence and Arbitrum, Immutable, and Tezos.

TapNation CEO Hervé Montoute commented, “This partnership exemplifies our dedication to continuous innovation and underscores our confidence in web3 technology. Together with PLAY, we share a unified ambition: to pioneer tomorrow’s use cases and revolutionize the gaming industry.”

“Our mission at PLAY is to make the excitement and innovation of web3 gaming available to everyone, no matter where they are or what kind of device they use,” said PLAY founder and CEO Christina Macedo.

“Partnering with TapNation is a key part of this vision as they truly are leaders in their space. Mobile games have an incredible reach, especially in regions where access to traditional gaming hardware can be limited. By tapping into this, we’re bringing blockchain-powered games to millions of new players, many of whom will experience Web3 for the first time through their phones.”
