Saakuru Labs and MemeCore launch $10 million fund to bolster web3 games

Singapore-based web3 game company Saakuru Labs and memecoin community platform MemeCore have announced a $10 million incubation fund to bolster blockchain gaming.

With $10 million in initial funding, the joint initiative aims to invest in and acquire communities and games, bringing them into the Saakuru and MemeCore ecosystems. The hope is this well enhance both Saakuru’s gaming-centered L2 blockchain, while also drive activity to MemeCore’s L1 blockchain, and ultimately increase their total value locked.

As for the $10 million, it’s earmarked for game projects currently in development. Apart from grants, these will also be offered technical and strategic support.

Backed by $2.4 million, Saakuru Labs has previously announced a strategic deal with Animoca Brands, which will see its L2 power some of Animoca’s portfolio games. It’s also integrated with Japanese gaming-centered blockchain Oasys, on which it’s built L2 Saakura Verse to power numerous games.

“We have built a strong reputation in the blockchain gaming industry, and this partnership with MemeCore allows us to accelerate the development of new gaming projects,” commented Saakuru Labs co-founder and CEO Jack Vinijtrongjit, adding, “With this collaboration, we’re able to offer more resources to top-tier game developers and further strengthen both ecosystems.”
