Play partners with Telefonica
Web3 mobile gaming network Play – previously Readygg – has joined forces with Spanish Telecom provider Telefonica to launch its PLAY GamePass NFTs via Telefonica’s marketplace TU Gallery.
While Play is leveraging Telefonica’s customer base, the collaboration means those users will get the benefit of exclusive access to various gaming content, as well as the opportunity to easily onboard web3.
Telefónica also hopes to attract a new audience of gamers to its platform.
As for other benefits of holding a GamePass NFT, they include receiving “OG PLAYer status” within Play’s Discord and Telegram groups, access to special channels and community events, beta tests and notifications on upcoming game releases, and more.
“Partnering with Telefónica Innovación Digital is another step toward our goal of making onchain gaming universally accessible. Their direct-to-consumer reach allows us to connect with a broad web2 audience keen to explore onchain gaming. Telefónica recognizes the importance of web3 and embraces innovation, and we look forward to introducing fresh gaming experiences to their extensive customer base,” commented Play founder and CEO Christina Macedo.
Continuing its mission to onboard mainstream players to web3, Play is also working with mobile game developer TapNation. This collaboration recently bore fruit with the launch of Rock Crawling: Racing Games 3D on iOS and Android, a game developed by TapNation using Play’s technology.
