It was just this month that we reported that Decentraland oversaw its largest land acquisition. Now, Axie Infinity has reported the sale of a huge tract of its land. In a social media post on November 24th, the team announced that one of its genesis land plots sold for a whopping 550ETH (or over $2.3 million).
What makes this all the more impressive are a couple of points. The first is that Axie Infinity’s land mechanic comprises over 90,601 individual plots – with varying levels of rarity and value. Couple this with the fact that, at the moment, the baseline price of these plots starts from 3.7 ETH (or $17,000+).
But, the last point is the most interesting of all. While this latest patch sold for $2.3 million, according to Axie’s marketplace, some of the most expensive patches are ranging anywhere from $2.6 to $49.78 million.
With that said, it comes as no surprise that some of these plots are being put up for so much. Axie’s Genesis plots are limited to 220, for good.
